Title: Get Hooked on Flounder!
By Jim Baugh
Reporting from the Flybridge

So what is new a top the Trojan flybridge? Well the key word is water filter. That's correct, a brand new 30,000-gallon water filter dedicated to our on board marine icemaker. I do treat the water that goes into the boat and clean the water tanks once a year. This type of regular maintenance helps insure clean drinking water while on board. A small water filter for an icemaker is an inexpensive solution that does not require large and expensive marine water purifiers. A small filter can be purchased for as little as $19 and the connections are only a buck or two. Our water filter installation went smoothly with the exception of blocking the interior fan movement with the filter itself. One I added more slack to the water line and repositioned the filter, the fan operated perfectly and cooling soon began. So now that I have some very clean ice for my delicious green tea, it is time to fill everyone in on what is going on over the next couple of months.

The local city channel in Hampton Virginia (ch47) will also be airing a special block of JBO programs that are specially edited and are commercial free. JBO will air four to six times per week for the next three months. The entire 2003 series is also available on a new double DVD set that can be ordered from our web site www.jimbaughoutdoors.com

What is new in the Jim Baugh Outdoors 2003 series?
Let's see, how about some segment's on: Artificial reef deployment, citation Tog fish caught out of a sunken WW2 tank, monster Flounder, Croaker that are to big for the bucket, cooking features from offshore Tilefish to quarter pound Scallops, how to best bottom paint your boat, in-depth how too's on rigging for trophy Flounder, pier fishing, how to bottom track for fish, and to top it all off, an actual pirate wedding held at the Hampton Blackbeard Festival.
It is defiantly one interesting series of programs.

Show Boat News

Jim Baugh Outdoors is in the process of purchasing and rigging out the new 30 ft JBO show boat that will be seen in principle production for the next several years. Our first outboard rig will be twin 140 hp Suzuki four stroke outboards. These engines will be featured on our program throughout the summer; later in the fall the boat will be rigged with twin 250hp once available. Marine Fabricators will be building the custom half tower that will be displaying the 10 new Penn internationals. Fridays Marine in Saluda will be doing the engine mounting and rigging. We plan on using Cooks Canvas out of Hampton to rig out the boat with some nice canvas. In case you have not guessed, we will be producing a lot more offshore programs during the 2003 shooting season.

What kind of boat is it? Is it new? Will it also have an icemaker with a filter? Did you buy it at a trade show?
I get these questions a lot, except for the icemaker line. The answer is I will let everyone know once the boat is in Hampton. We will also write a good article on why we purchased the type of boat that we did and post it right here in the Sportsman's. Hopefully we will have the new rig on display during the Blackbeard Festival\Get Hooked On Hampton Spring Open Fishing Tournament weekend. The new boat and our 36 Trojan will most likely also be on display at this years Bay Day's on the waterfront in Hampton VA.

Mark your calendar for the weekend of May 31st today! The spring open tourney and the Blackbeard festival is going to be a great way to kick off the summer. For hotel and docking information, just visit our website at jimbaughoutdoors.com or call the Hampton Public Piers at 757-727-1276
