Jim's Favorite Ports

(Most of these Marina's have been featured on the show.)

The following is a list of marinas that Jim Baugh Outdoors has regularly visited. We get ask all the time about great places to keep boats, where to catch fish, and other travel related questions. So here we go!

Hampton Virginia.

By now most of our viewers know that Jim Baugh Outdoors bases it's program and marine fleet in Hampton VA. There are many reasons for this. Primarily, we believe that the Mid-Atlantic region has the best overall fishing in the USA, and probably even the world. Hampton VA just happens to be the best location in the Mid-Atlantic region to fish out of.

Why?

For one, the Hampton river and the mouth of Hampton Roads (on the North Side) is protected from NE winds. The Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel is awesome fishing grounds for Spot, Croaker, Trout, Cobia, etc. The Hampton Bar (located at the mouth of the Hampton River) is one of the best Flounder holes in the Chesapeake Bay. Hampton VA is centrally located and is ideal for lower Chesapeake Bay fishing. Weather one wants to fish offshore for Tuna, or catch monster Catfish in the James River, Hampton is the location to have your boat. To view a chart of the Hampton Rhoads area, Click here.

To top it off, the Hampton river \ harbor, is one of the most beautiful waterfront areas one will ever see. There are hotels, marinas, museums, boat yards, festivals, even colleges, all located in one unique area.

If you are a family boater, fisherman, or just like waterside ports, Hampton VA is hard to beat. Here is some Information regarding marina's. You can also go to the Hampton website for more complete marina info., or just click on the Hampton links on our main page for Hotels, charter services, etc.,
